Juanita Grace (Jones) Lunsford

Juanita Grace Lunsford, 91, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her family. She was born on November 26, 1932 in Rock Island, Illinois to the late Rev. John Wesley Jones and Rebecca (Allen) Jones. Juanita graduated from Rocky High School and married Cecil S. Lunsford on December 4, 1951. They shared a special love story, and were married 64 years.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, each of her family members held a special place in her heart. Cecil and Juanita raised their family in a Christ centered home, they loved singing together, and always had a song in their hearts.

She enjoyed spending time in nature, and spending time with her family. God gave Juanita many gifts; she was a published poet and a member of the International Society of Poets as well as being an avid painter, being selected as the Riddell National Bank’s “Artist of the Month”.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and her siblings, Hazel Howlett, Lucille Banks, Jack Jones, Mary Ann Jones, and Jim Jones.

Survivors include daughters, Wanda Lunsford, Janice (Mark) Ruddell, and Tenna (Brad) Keiser; her sons, Alan (Teea) Lunsford; Mike (Melody) Lunsford, and Tim Lunsford; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other extended family.

A private graveside service will be held at Kaelber Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home in Brazil was entrusted with her arrangements.
